Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Secretary-General of the Arab League for the Development of Industrial Exports at the Arab League, Ambassador Abdul Moneim Mohamed Mahmoud, has revealed that the losses of the Sudanese economic sector are estimated at about 200 billion dollars, including 50 billion dollars in losses from the industrial sector.
He stressed, according to SUNA, that rebuilding and rehabilitating the industrial sector in Sudan requires official interventions to find solutions by facilitating financial transactions, loans, and support for the sector.
He revealed the destruction of about 550 factories in Bahri and Omdurman, and the displacement of more than 250,000 workers.
He stressed that Sudanese banks do not have the ability to comprehensively finance the rebuilding of the sector, stressing the need for international groups and investors to enter and bring together a number of banks under one name, to help in the first stage of rebuilding.
