Kabashi: Government’s Position in Negotiations with SPLM Committee is flexible and negotiable
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Shams Al-Din Kabashi, has confirmed that the government’s paper presented in the Juba negotiations with the SPLM-N regarding stopping hostilities and passing humanitarian aid is flexible and negotiable.
A press statement by the Sovereign Council quoted Al-Kabashi as informing members of the SPLM delegation supporting the success of the humanitarian path during a meeting in Juba, on Sunday, that the government does not mind delivering aid to the rest of the states witnessing similar situations as long as guarantees and measures are available that guarantee the safety of workers in humanitarian organizations.
He pointed out that the government had previously approved more than once similar measures that were violated by the Rapid Support militia.
The South Sudan mediation informed the government and the SPLM that a session would be held on Sunday to respond to the proposals of both parties.
