A Committee Begins Rehabilitation of Omdurman Market
Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi
The Omdurman Market Committee, the regular forces, and the youth began laying the initial touches to rehabilitate the market, and began moves to visit the Omdurman Market to find out the extent of the losses and how to start work.
Trader Mohammad Osman revealed the great destruction that befell the market, and told Sudan Events, “The market is suffering from destruction and fire to most of the shops, the theft of all goods and merchandise, and the presence of explosives on the site,” warning of the necessity of cleaning the market of unexploded items and foreign objects and then setting off “Work to clean the shops and streets.” He appealed to the merchants to cooperate, coordinate, and support the return of the market to its previous normal state. He said that the local government alone cannot accomplish the great work.
