The Brazilian Football Confederation announced that Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson will be absent from the Copa America tournament, which begins next June 20 and is held in the United States of America. Ederson suffered a severe shoulder injury when he collided with Tottenham defender Cristian Romero during City’s penultimate match in the English Premier League. The injury caused the goalkeeper to miss his team’s last league match this season against West Ham United, and the 30-year-old player will also miss the Copa America tournament in the United States, which begins on June 20, as Brazil coach Dorival Junior decided to call up a replacement for Ederson in the match. The final roster for the tournament is 34-year-old Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rafael. Brazil is in Group D of the Copa America, along with Colombia, Paraguay and Costa Rica.
