Al-Burhan Reviews Police’s Plan to Extend State’s Prestige

The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Sunday with the Director-General of the Police Forces, Lieutenant General Khaled Hassan Mohieddin.
The meeting discussed the security situation in the country, the efforts made by the police forces to maintain security, the need to strengthen the role of the police during the coming period, and to combat crime and negative phenomena.
The Director General of the Police Forces said in a press statement that he briefed the President of the Sovereign Council on the security situation and the plan of the police forces to extend the prestige of the state and the rule of law, and to carry out large-scale prevention and detection campaigns to fight crime, cut off roads for habitual criminals and the unruly, and remove negative phenomena, in addition to providing the necessary services to citizens.
He pointed to the wide spread of police forces in safe states to carry out their security duties, provide services and transactions to citizens, and secure markets, important commercial areas, and vital facilities, in light of the current circumstances that the country is going through, stressing the readiness of the police forces to cover all police departments, pointing to the stability of the security situation thanks to the efforts of Police forces and their deployment.
He stressed that the police forces stand in one trench with the armed forces and other regular forces to defeat the rebel terrorist militia.
