Displaced artists and musicians residing in Kassala State presented, on Monday, a night in memory of the late artist Nader Khader, at the Artists Union in the state. Kassala State is considered one of the most active states in which artistic performances, theatre, and singing are held. The Artists Union witnessed a number of artistic nights and presented a jazz night on the occasion of International Jazz Day.
Kassala events
A number of theatrical performances and workshops were presented in the state by theater groups and a number of displaced artists in the city of Kassala, in cooperation with a number of civil organizations and initiatives by the dramatic artists themselves, where director Fouad Abdel Rahim presented a number of performances discussing health problems.
War problems
During the war period, theater came to discuss urgent issues, or the issues that societies suffer from, as the artist Tariq Al-Amin presented through (Al-Hilahub) comedy band, and with the participation of artists Rabih Taha and Ghadeer Mirghani, he presented a number of performances that included theatrical performances that discussed the problem of cholera, in addition to discussing the problems of displacement homes.
Education and Entertainment
During the period of war, the theater works in all its sectors to educate and raise awareness of the dangers in addition to entertainment, and the children were not neglected, as a puppet theater was presented, presented by the artist Hajo Khalil through the band (Althulathi Almarih), in addition to the artist Mawahib Abdel Qader, who also presented performances from the puppet theatre, and participated in presenting the plays were performed by artists Ghadeer Mirghani, Rabie Taha, Qism El-Ilah Hamdallah, Osama Al-Shambatti, and Ghalia Ramadan. These performances were presented in shelter homes, the New Halfa area, and Khashm Al-Qirba.
Shelters
Perhaps what is most preoccupying the minds of the playwrights at this stage is what is happening in the shelter homes and what the displaced people are exposed to in those homes, as Rabie Taha, Ghadeer Mirghani, Ghalia Ramadan, and Muhammad Ahmed Esquire participated in presenting performances in the shelter homes discussing the problems of the displaced, in addition to the fact that the writer Ahmed Ajeeb prepared a play ready to show about the problems of displacement and asylum, starring Ghadeer Mirghani, Osama Shambat, Ghalia Ramadan, Khadija Idris Farah.
Art workshops
In addition to the performances, the theater in Kassala State is also active in providing artistic workshops that discuss issues of the stage, as the artist Ghadeer Mirghani, in cooperation with the Point of Light organization, presented an artistic workshop in which a number of actors Rabih Taha, Ghalia Ramadan, who were displaced, and Khadija Idris, from Kassala State, participated, and it was presented in five of the shelter homes included training women and children to give presentations in addition to discussing their problems and issues. The workshop also works to provide psychological support to women and children and discuss what girls, women and children have been exposed to in shelter homes.
