Regularity of Livestock Export Operations through Osman Digna Port

Minister of Trade Al-Fateh Abdullah pledged to address the obstacles to operating Hedoub Port, and affirmed the need to move to exporting livestock through Hedoub Port designated for this field, while livestock export operations were regular through Osman Digna Port in Suakin.
The Ministry of Trade affirmed cooperation and coordination with the Seaports Authority to maximize the country’s exports through the maritime transport system in Sudan.
The Minister of Trade, the Director General of the Seaports Authority, and the Director of Trade, Supply and Consumer Protection Investigations monitored the progress of work in the field of livestock exports during the field visit,that included Digna Port and the veterinary quarantine in Suakin.
The discussion included providing drinking water for the herds and arranging the transport of livestock from production areas to the veterinary quarantine in Suakin.
It worths mentioning that the delegation monitored the preparation of onion exports through Digna Port, which has increased in demand in foreign markets, in addition to visiting Hedoub Port, which is prepared for livestock exports and horticultural products south of Digna Port.
The delegation discussed ways to overcome the difficulties facing the operation of Hedoub Port, particularly issues related to the people of Hedoub area.
