Militia liquidates “Mentally Disabled” in Khartoum

Special sources revealed that a number of mentally disabled people were liquidated in several areas in Khartoum by soldiers affiliated with the Rapid Support RSF Militia, by shooting them or torturing them to death.
A member of the Khartoum Emergency Rooms said, according to “Sudan Tribune”, requesting that his name and geographical areas be withheld for reasons related to his safety and the safety of the residents of those areas, that the Rapid Support RSF soldiers killed a number of mentally ill people during the first months of the war in the city of Khartoum, and the various committees (resistance – emergency), activists and residents buried them in different areas.
Two members of the Emergency Committees in the city of Bahri affirmed , according to “Sudan Tribune”, that more than three mentally disabled people were killed by bullets from the Rapid Support RSF soldiers, affirming that the soldiers kill these people as soon as they see them.
A resident of Bahri, Alam Ahmed, who sought refuge in South Sudan, stated that during his presence in the city, he actually witnessed the liquidation of three mentally ill people on Sayed Ali Street “Shambat Street” during different periods.
He affirmed that Rapid Support Forces RSF soldiers were setting up a checkpoint near a gas station at the beginning of the road and opened fire on people with mental illnesses, affirming that these people could pose a danger to them according to their justifications to some residents when they asked them about the reasons for killing the disabled patients.
