Director of Unit for Combating Violence against Women and Children, Salma Ishaq, revealed the kidnapping of girls from Gezira state.
She pointed out that this incident comes within a series of kidnappings of girls that occurred in Khartoum and Darfur.
According to “Sudan Tribune”, Salma expected more horrific facts to emerge with the end of the war or the ceasefire.
She added that there are worse hidden facts and badly facts that people see and hear about, according to her.
She said that women paid the greatest and most severe price in this war, and while people deny the kidnapping of girls, United Nations UN documents have proven these facts and affirmed their validity.
The official spoke about the statistics of 191 cases related to sexual violence against women during a year and two months of the war, affirming lack of response to demands to stop these violations, particularly in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces RSF.
She added: “The areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces RSF are witnessing a significant increase in the rate of sexual violence related to the conflict, and this has become a means of threat.”
