Energy Minister Announces Imminent Resumption of Pumping of S. Sudan Oil

Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Muhiuddin Naiem Mohamed Saeed, reiterated his confirmation that the resumption of pumping of South Sudan’s oil is nearing completion.
He appreciated efforts of workers in the oil and electricity sectors as they continue to work in these critical circumstances until their efforts were crowned with success in a number of areas, stressing that work in the two sectors is proceeding at a good pace despite the very critical situation, which we hope will not be repeated.
He said, “In the electricity sector, workers are doing their utmost to stabilize the electricity current.” The Minister affirmed , while offering his greetings to the Ministry’s employees on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in Port Sudan, that this period is a test of capabilities, as the Ministry is working with only 10% of its employees due to the repercussions of the war.
He called for sharpening morale, doubling efforts, and working with dedication and sincerity, warning against mistakes in this critical period, affirming that working within these situations despite the low salaries, is a purely national work that history will preserve for every individual who works to fill the gaps. He said that these technical works cannot be done by anyone except those with long experience and specialists, such as the Ministry’s employees.
He promised the employees to move forward and provide the utmost that can be provided for the homeland, despite the risks that every individual is exposed to in the fields of work.
