Cairo to host Conference for Sudanese political Powers on July 7

Informed sources revealed on Monday that the conference called for by the Egyptian government will be held by the main political powers and armed movements in Sudan on July 7.
The conference is expected to discuss ways to find rapprochement between the political powers on stopping the war and building comprehensive peace.
Sources told Sudan Tribune that participation in the conference will be based on political parties and armed movements, not blocs or alliances.
The sources added that the invitation was extended to the Sudanese Congress, National Umma, Unionist Gathering, Original Federal, Baath, National Unionist Party, in addition to the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM)led by Minni Arko Minawi, the Sudan Liberation Movement Transitional Council ( SLMTC) the Justice and Equality Movement ( JEM) led by Jibril Ibrahim, the Popular Movement Revolutionary Current, the Sudan Liberation Forces Gathering, and the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement( JEM) led by Suleiman Sandal.
The sources indicated that the invitation was also extended to the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu, and the Sudan Liberation Movement ( SLM) led by Abdel Wahid Nour, but the two movements have not announced their position on the invitation yet.
The sources added that the aim of the conference is to declare a unified position to stop the war, and that the conference will last for just one day.
