Al-Sir Al-Sayyid mourns Shater

Theater critic Al-Sir mourned the late theater critic Mohamed Shater.
“The old financial and administrative affairs employee (Muhammad Shater), who entered the theater through its widest doors and opened its corridors. Shater, who held the position of director of the National Theater in a previous period, enjoyed good relations with the playwrights and even became one of them,” Al-Sayed said in a blog post on his Facebook page.
“ In exceptional uniqueness, Shater was freed from the fears of accountants who felt their pockets at every financial need for an element of the theatrical process and issued apologies, excuse after excuse. His management witnessed reasonable theatrical activity and compassionate cooperation with all the theatre-players.” He added.
“When I mourn him, I mourn a different loss that combined the private and the public in a creative way. He is the strict administrator, friend, and relative who is always present in the playwrights’ conversations and shares their concerns and questions.” He continued.
“Your departure saddened me, O Shater, and made me cry just as the men and women of the theater cried in their forced exile in the narrow exiles of the land.” He added.
