Once again.. Chatterboxes in Cairo!!

Rashan Oshi

Away from the details of who will participate and who will boycott the Cairo Conference for Sudanese Dialogue that will be held in two days, with the escalation of all matters and the complexities of the internal situation and the essence of the titles, we will find that we are still discussing the same thing that our ancestors discussed almost half a century ago.
Who are we? What is our issue ? What is the nature of the relation between the State and the people? What is the most suitable social and political contract for us? Over the years, and many conferences and charters, we have not come up with a satisfactory answer that represents the cornerstone of the lost national project.
It is not a flaw for the debate to continue in this, but it is unreasonable that there is no accumulation of political and cognitive experiences that results in what we all seek, if we accept that intentions are sincere towards national issues, here we become faced with a numbness that makes us at one circular point.
Our time is a circular and our problems revolve and revolve, and the mind revolves with them. We will keep repeating the same discussion, the same arguments, and the same results, with some improvements that suit the time, place, and whims of the guarantor of effectiveness, while the essence has not changed, a closed circle of futility.
So.. the resonant speeches, the chatter in the capitals of countries will not be the relied upon in the making and then implementing the great national ideas, the amazing thing is that the eternal discussion, in the issues referred to a little while ago, is repeated every time with the same enthusiasm and astonishment!… and no result is worth mentioning, and no change occurs, but a waste of time and energy, and the people are in another valley that is not concerned with the chatterboxes in Cairo or Addis Ababa or other parts of the world… the people see that the solution is in Khartoum…
If the chatterboxes in Cairo want to cross Sudan
towards security and political stability to achieve electoral entitlements, it is important to emphasize the necessity of evacuating the country from mercenaries and militias, otherwise peace and stability will remain threatened by danger in light of the presence of militias of various orientations whose loyalty is known.
Despite the local and international consensus on the necessity of these groups leaving civilian areas and citizens’ homes, there are no concrete steps or clear mechanisms to remove them, even the agreement of principles in the Saudi city of Jeddah is still faltering and stalled until now.
Sudan is free of militias, mercenaries and foreign forces, this is what the free Sudanese demand, not the agents, while the presence of militias and mercenaries and any efforts to reach a settlement that returns them to power again, is considered a security threat and causes a demographic breach, and even threatens division and geographical fragmentation in the country, which threatens its division geographically and not only politically.
