The Sudanese army SAF set conditions on Wednesday for any negotiation with the Rapid Support Forces RSF militia that would lead to the end of the war, and said that regaining control of the city of Sinja, the capital of Sennar state in the southeast of the country, is only a matter of days.
The Assistant Commander-in-chief of the SAF Lt. Gen.Yassir Al-Atta, said that the commander of the Rapid Support Forces RSF militia, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti”, seeks to change the demographic composition in Sudan.
He denied the existence of any plans for a meeting between the SAF Commander in chief head of the Sovereignty Council TSC Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and Hemedti, in response to reports that a meeting would be held between them soon in Uganda.
He pointed out that any negotiation with the Rapid Support Forces RSF that would lead to the end of the war must be preceded by meeting many conditions.
In response to a question from (Al Jazeera Net)Al-Atta explained that the SAF conditions for negotiating with the Rapid Support Forces RSF are:
• The surrender of the Rapid Support Forces RSF and 5 camps have been identified to transfer their forces to, with a pledge not to attack or target them as long as they are in those locations.”
• Withdraw from all residential areas and evacuate the buildings they have controlled over the past months.
• Hand over weapons and combat equipment, return foreign fighters to their countries, and hand over those being prosecuted on charges related to violations that occurred during the past period, “which included looting, rape crimes, and violations of citizens’ rights.”
He said that there will be no political or military presence for the support forces RSF in the armed forces SAF in the future.
The assistant commander of the SAF pledged to redress the damage and provide appropriate compensation “to all those targeted by the crimes of the support forces RSF during the past period,” and said that the SAF will appoint an independent government to oversee the daily affairs, and will continue to hold power until elections are held.
Al-Atta spoke to a delegation of media professionals in the Wadi Sayedna military area in Omdurman on details of the war that Sudan has been witnessing for about 15 months.
He affirmed that the Rapid Support Forces RSF were planning, through their war and their efforts to seize power, to marginalize more than 500 tribes in Sudan and limit power to a small segment of Sudanese society.
He pointed out that the RSF plan coincided with the plans of other countries targeting the reunification of the Arab diaspora in Sudan at the expense of the indigenous Sudanese tribes of African origin.
Al-Atta accused the UAE of standing behind the Rapid Support Forces RSF by providing various forms of support through the flow of money, weapons and mercenaries who are recruited from different regions, he said.
Al-Atta conveyed a confession by one of the presidents of Sudan’s neighboring countries in which he affirmed that he allowed the passage of weapons for the support forces RSF in exchange for promises of billions of dollars, of which he only received $750 million, with a promise to grant the rest of the amount in installments.
Regarding the latest developments in the war, which is approaching its 15th month, he said that the Rapid Support Forces RSF occupied Jebel Moya and the city of Sinja.
He confirmed that work is underway to prepare support forces from different fronts that will arrive in the region successively in order to confront the militia militants.
