A broad campaign of solidarity from the people of Yemen towards the young singer Balqis Fathi, who is facing a fierce war that led to the blocking of her songs.
Yemeni bloggers wrote, “On the International Day of the Yemeni Song, happy new year to Balqis, and every year she is the best artist in the history of Yemen. One day your voice will be sold in pharmacies as a cure for those desperate for life. Balqis is art and art is Balqis.”
In her last appearance, she said, “I come from a civilized country full of cultures and arts, coming from Yemen.” This is the Arab artist Balqis Fathi, who has never denied her identity, and when she brags, she brags about her origins.
Balqis is a high-class artist, and on top of that, she is highly educated, and possesses diplomacy, prudence, and the art of response that an artist rarely possesses. She also has knowledge of the customs and traditions of peoples, and as soon as she visits an Arab country, she melts into it as if it were her mother country, and there is nothing strange, as she is the daughter of the great musician Ahmed Fathi.
The artist, Balqis, is exposed from time to time to Gulf attacks, and they went so far as to fight her by confiscating her songs under the pretext of copyright, all because she did not forget her origins, as did the rest of the artists coming to the Gulf.
