Militia Bombs a Hospital in Omdurman

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Khartoum state, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, revealed that the rebel militia continues to target medical facilities, and said that it bombed Al-Baluk Children’s Hospital with heavy artillery on Thursday, causing significant damage to the buildings.
The official spokesperson for the ministry added in a press statement that Al-Baluk Hospital is the only hospital specialized in treating children and that there are large numbers of children and accompanying mothers inside it, which has instilled fear and panic in their souls. He called on international organizations to take urgent action to protect children, as international laws and conventions stipulate that children be kept away from conflict areas.
He pointed out that by monitoring the cases that arrive at hospitals as a result of the militia’s deliberate bombing of neighborhoods and civilian facilities, most of the cases are unarmed citizens, including women, the elderly and children.
