A photo was circulated of the gathering of artists Dr. Abdel Qader Salem and Abu Arki Al-Bakhit in front of Taiba Hospital in Omdurman.
The caption accompanying the picture was the latest picture of the two creators meeting for treatment at Taiba Hospital. However, Abdel Qader Salem wrote a comment that interpreted the picture in all its dimensions, saying: “A sudden attack from Professor Abu Arki, strong knocks on the door of my residence, after which I went out to find in front of me Professor Abu Arki and his son Cesar, who shouted, ‘Did you forget your appointment with me to meet the doctor? Let’s hurry.’ We rode his car, driven by his son Cesar, heading to Al-Naw Hospital, which contributed to treating thousands of patients and those wounded in war operations efficiently and competently. We found a note from Professor Jamal, director of Al-Naw Hospital, to the Taiba Hospital family, who welcomed us and conducted all of my examinations. Another examination took place at Al-Mahdawi Hospital. All of this was done without any financial value and with good hospitality. What an appreciation. All this and Arki and Cesar did not leave until one o’clock in the afternoon. A thousand thanks to you, great human being who appreciates the fellowship.” He added. “The war, despite its ugliness, there are amazing situations. Last January, I visited the city of Shendi, and on the way I found a dignified sheikh. I asked him about the direction of the nearest hotel to spend the night in Shendi, and he vowed that I would go with him to his house… Imagine what it would be like if you were not Sudanese.” Salem continued.
