Sudan Events – Follow-ups
President of the Sovereignty CouncilTSC and Commander-in-Chief of the SAF, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, revealed that they rejected a request from the US Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Borriello, to meet him outside Sudan, and also revealed that they rejected a request to meet him at Port Sudan Airport, and stressed that the step comes to preserve the prestige and sovereignty of the State.
In mid-May, Sudan Events published news from informed sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it revealed that the American envoy, Tom Borriello, requested an entry visa and set conditions that the Sudanese government rejected because they affect sovereignty, represented in his insistence that American forces precede his arrival and that Port Sudan Airport be the place for his meetings with Sudanese officials, headed by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC ,Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded at the time by denying what the newspaper reported.
Al-Burhan said during his meeting with a delegation of media professionals, on Thursday, in response to a question from (Sudan Events ) that he did not receive any invitation to meet the leader of the Rapid Support RSF Militia, Hemeti, in Kampala.
He explained that the war was formed from the beginning of the change five years ago until the time of the explosion on April 15, 2023, adding, “It began in the first days of the change when $100 million that was given to the revolutionary authority was placed in Abdel Rahim Daglo’s account instead of being placed in the state treasury.”
Al-Burhan affirmed that what is happening is not a war, but rather a comprehensive aggression in which the militia is using mercenaries from 18 countries, affirming that the conspiracy against the Sudanese State is very large in its resources, land, location, and SAF.
Al-Burhan said, “The conspiracy against the Sudanese State: a siege imposed on weapons and ammunition by air and sea to impose a defeat on the national army, subjecting its command to the Daglo family or forcing it to negotiate a humiliating and degrading surrender,” adding, “Large-scale purchases of individuals’ consciences, and the positions of small and large countries.”
Regarding what is happening in some cities of Sennar state, he said, “Don’t see Sinja, Jebel Moya and this whirlwind, I see victory in front of me as I see you sitting now and the days between us.”
He said, “They tell me that I am not in power and want to rule!! He swore (if it was my will and desire, I would take off my shoes and leave today before tomorrow), but it is a country’s responsibility and a national duty that we will not hand over to them.”
He continued, “Victory is inevitable, no matter how many enemies gang up on us, and no matter how many setbacks the army suffers, they are fleeting and will not enable them to prey on the State, devour its resources, transfer its authority to the ownership of a specific family, and subjugate its wealth to the benefit of certain countries.”
