President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC Lt.Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received on Monday the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji, who arrived in the country on an official visit.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, said in a press statement that the talks addressed the call to resume Jeddah platform, adding that the President of the Sovereignty Council TSC affirmed Sudan’s keenness to make Jeddah platform a success as a foundation to build on, stressing the need to implement what was agreed upon in May 2023.
He said that the meeting also addressed the importance of expanding the base of facilitators in Jeddah negotiations, noting that Al-Burhan expressed his reservations about the presence of any party supporting the rebel militia.
The President of the Sovereignty Council TSC expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the security and stability of Sudan, referring to the fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly peoples.
The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs explained that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed to the President of the Sovereignty Council TSC the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, indicating that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister stressed during the meeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness on the security and stability of Sudan and its unlimited support for it, considering that the stability of Sudan has a direct impact on the security and stability of the region, pointing to the huge resources that Sudan has in various fields.
It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the General Intelligence Service.
