Makki Sinada announces his withdrawal from retirement

The Sudanese Social Center in Sharjah hosted a generational communication session in the presence of Dr. Youssef Aidabi (the most complete face of Sudanese drama) is the distinguished actor Makki Sinada. The session witnessed a large presence of those interested in theatrical and cultural arts. Makki Sinada excelled in telling stories and interesting tales in which he recalled all the events and narratives from his memory. Sinada spoke in the session about plays and his radio works. Makki Sinada also spoke about his early beginnings with theatre, where he mentioned that he began his interest in this art since elementary school, when he wrote, acted and directed the play (One Man Theater). He also recounted his educational journey, where he specialized in the subjects of geography and history. Sinada graduated from the Teachers’ Institute and worked as a teacher in several cities in Sudan. Thanks to his proficiency in the English language, he was able to view the masterpieces of international theatre. He performed many of William Shakespeare’s plays in their original language. He also added that his travel to Egypt provided a unique opportunity to view the masterpieces of Arab and international theatre.
Sinada also narrated his move to Khartoum after an invitation from his neighbor, an employee at the radio, to act, and from here he set out to become a star.

Makki Sinada is considered one of the pioneers who formed a milestone in the renaissance of the Sudanese theatrical and cultural movement. He joined the National Theater as an assistant to Al-Faki Abdul Rahman in 1967, and held leadership duties in the state’s cultural institutions until he retired from institutional work in 2006.
Sinada expressed his hope to reproduce and record his plays for new generations, heralding his retirement. He also expressed his desire to re-direct Hashem Siddiq’s masterpiece Nabta Habibti with a new vision.
The session was moderated by the well-known Mohammed Sayed Ahmed Al-Masharahi, who praised the role of the Social Center in organizing this event.
