Qatar Launches “Sudan Relief” Campaign

Qatar Charity launched the “Sudan Relief” campaign to provide assistance to the IDPs and those affected by the war in Sudan, amid the worst displacement crisis witnessed by Sudan in the world.
Qatar Charity stated in a statement that the Sudan Relief campaign aims to provide food baskets and potable water, provide sanitation facilities, addition to providing health services and providing shelter tents, while the number of beneficiaries of this campaign is estimated at more than one million people.
The Sudan Relief campaign works to provide food baskets to 550,000 people, and these baskets contain basic materials that face the needs of affected families, which contributes to satisfying the hunger of children and displaced families and ensuring their access to food.
The campaign also works, according to the “Qatar News Agency”, to provide safe drinking water to save the lives of 400,000 children and affected families in light of the severe shortage of potable water suffered by many Sudanese regions.
Mobile toilets will be provided to 200,000 people in the affected areas, to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure access to these facilities to be within walking distance of the displaced, taking into account people with special needs and the elderly.
Qatar Charity is also working in light of the worsening crisis, to provide health care and treat 200,000 patients in addition to improving health care in different areas.
On the other hand, the “Sudan Relief” campaign is preparing to provide shelter tents for 250,000 affected people to ensure safe shelter that protects displaced families to regain their sense of security and stability. Qatar Charity has provided assistance to Sudan in several areas, including comprehensive relief, food supplies, health, water and sanitation, and the number of beneficiaries of these projects is estimated at about 400,000 people in different areas.
Qatar Charity called on the people of good to donate to the “Sudan Relief” campaign via the Qatar Charity website, through the home collector, or via the Qatar Charity application.
It is noteworthy that the number of displaced persons and refugees in Sudan is 11 million people, while 2 million people were forced to seek refuge in neighboring countries, and it is expected that 17 million people will face the risk of famine by the end of 2024, while severe malnutrition threatens 4.6 million children due to the famine sweeping many Sudanese areas.
