Anniversary of Muhammadiya’s departure

Yesterday marked the anniversary of the passing of the famous musician, Muhammad Abdullah Abkar, known as (Muhammadiya), on July 16, 2014. Muhammadiya is considered a musician, a brilliant violinist, a self-taught man who persevered and established himself among the giants of music and singing artists in Khartoum, to which he came from the city of Port Sudan in the fifties of the last century. He became a prominent member of the prominent Sudanese singing groups of various generations, and headed the radio and television groups. He also founded the “Al-Nujoum” band with a group of his peers. The Sudanese taste preserved for him many solo performances in many Sudanese singing circles, and Muhammadiyah succeeded in forming his own style. He was an educated man with extensive experience. He studied in Sudan and the Republic of Egypt.
