Workshop to Reconstruct Khartoum in Mid-August

Preparations were launched to organise a workshop to reconstruct Khartoum state in mid-August, in which the Transitional Sovereignty Council TSC, state governors, members of the federal government, banks, commercial institutions, banks, employers’ and workers’ unions, civil society organizations and experts will participate.
The coordinator of the reconstruction and recovery project, Saif al-Din Mukhtar, revealed the papers proposed for presentation at the workshop, which were assigned to experts in the field of reconstruction and future-making, a paper on reconstruction, reality and challenges, and another on the vision of Khartoum state, which was prepared by a specialized work team, addition to a paper on the extent of the destruction.
Meanwhile, the governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, appreciated the preparatory work for the workshop, affirming that reconstruction is an important stage that requires mobilizing all human, material and intellectual energies and presenting experiences to bring about an urban renaissance that keeps pace with urbanization in the world, as it is an important stage that takes place according to the scientific methodology that the workshop must come out with.
He said that the idea of ​​the reconstruction project is a development of the Khartoum Appeal to help the needy affected by the war, and its tasks include voluntary return and the restoration of basic services in addition to the development vision after the war.
