Two killed in new attack on Sudanese Refugee Camp in Ethiopia

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Two Sudanese refugees were killed in a new attack on the “Oulala” camp in the Amhara region of Ethiopia, the second armed attack in less than a week.
Sources in the camp said, according to “Sudan Tribune”, that the armed attack on the camp resulted in the death of two refugees and the injury of about 9 others, while the motives for the second attack, which was preceded by a similar attack three days ago, in which a number of Sudanese refugees were injured, including a child, and two Ethiopian policemen were killed, were not determined.
For its part, the Sudanese Refugee Coordination Office in Amhara region said in a press statement received by “Sudan Tribune” that an armed group attacked the camp and opened heavy fire on the refugees.
The statement affirmed that there were casualties during the attack and that others were injured, and strongly criticized what it called the threats that the refugees received from the UNHCR official after they refused to be deported to the new camp.
