Actor and dramatist Nabil Moutawakel passed away on Monday evening after suffering for a long time with illness and the fatigue that affected his body. His thoughts remained with the country, its wounds, the profession and its faltering. He was bedridden for a number of years and moved to Gedaref, far from Bahri, where he grew up. His beginnings were formed in the seventies. During the last century with Al-Fadil Saeed’s band, Nabil traveled with all that nobility and a journey of theatrical, radio, and television drama giving, and participated in more than hundreds of works and plays that formed an imprint on the awareness of society and its knowledge.
Nabil Mutawakel gave a lot to Sudanese art through a career that spanned for 40 years, the result of which was more than (800) dramatic works that he presented for radio and television, in addition to his participation in (33) plays, as he continued to provide generously in the field of drama since 1966.
Nabil Mutawakel was born in the city of Bahri, where he studied all his academic levels. He is married and lives in Kalakla, east. He has three sons and a daughter. He began his artistic career in 1966 through the Children’s Paradise presented by Abdel Aziz Abdel Latif, and after that he worked in television drama in 1967. When it was presented live.
After that, he moved to the Bahri Youth Center, and the late playwright, Al-Fadil Saeed, trained him. During the training, he praised his talent and asked him to attend rehearsals for his play at the National Theater. During the rehearsals, he was asked to choose the best role, and the name of the play was (The Sweet Half). He chose one of the roles and participated in presenting it, so he was Mutawakel owes great thanks to Al-Fadil Saeed in his early beginnings. After that, he moved to work in Al-Fadel Saeed’s troupe from 1971 until 1995, and participated with him in about (18) plays, such as “We Are Like This,” and “Eating Aish,” and other immortal works presented by the dramatist Al-Fadel Saeed.
After that, he worked with the late director Imad El-Din Ibrahim. He also worked on radio and television, and he had his own production that he presented, and he found acceptance from the audience.
He presented no less than (800) dramatic works for radio and television, and they are still present in the radio and television libraries, just as he presented (33) plays. I worked in the dramatic field over a period of 40 years that were full of effort and giving, during which he presented a group of immortal works that he was really proud of.
