Musician Dr. Al-Fateh Hussein explained some facts about an archive photo showing the late artist Mohamed Al-Amin.
“This photo was spread on some platforms on Facebook and it says that it was in 1965, but this is not true. First, Mohamed El Amin did not settle in Khartoum at that time as he spent most of his time in our beloved city, Medani. I joined Mohamed El Amin’s band in November 1981 and in June of the same year we traveled to Britain and recorded the famous London tape. Before traveling, Mohamed Adam El Mansouri, the saxophonist, joined the band and he is standing on the far right. After we returned from London and almost at the beginning of 1983, the musician and violinist Hamza Saeed joined us and he is sitting on the far left. As for standing on the far left, the friend of the helpful and kind young man who was loved by the entire band and was Mohamed El Amin’s private driver. I hope that I have clarified some facts about the history of the photo. The rest of the group in the photo are fans of the late Mohamed El Amin and have no connection to the musician or Mohamed El Amin’s band.” He said.
