Messi’s house facade defaced in Spain

Sudan Events – Agencies
Environmental activists from the “Green Future” movement have smeared the facade of the house of Argentine star and Barcelona legend Leo Messi on the Spanish island of Ibiza with red and black paint, denouncing the “responsibility of the rich” for the climate crisis.
The movement announced in a statement that what it did was “non-violent civil disobedience” with the aim of the government moving forward with policies that lead to the exacerbation of the climate crisis and “the disproportionate extent of responsibility.”
The activists placed a banner on the facade of Messi’s house, the current Inter Miami striker and the world and Copa America champion with Argentina, where “the flea” spends part of his summer vacation, as well as in the garden, with slogans in English suggesting helping the planet, getting rid of a rich person and dismissing the police.  Environmental activists cited a 2023 Oxfam report that said the world’s richest 1% of the planet’s population emit more carbon than the poorest two-thirds of humanity, even though the most vulnerable communities are suffering the “hardest” consequences of the crisis.
