Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea, the former Manchester United goalkeeper, arrived in Florence, the stronghold of Fiorentina, to undergo a medical examination, after agreeing personal terms with the club, and returning to football after an absence of more than a year. The former Atletico Madrid and Manchester United player has been a free agent since his contract with Old Trafford expired in July 2023, and he was unable to find a project that interested him enough until the Viola offer came, and the goalkeeper is expected to get a one-year contract worth one million euros per season in addition to bonuses, with the possibility of extending for another year with a double salary of 2 million euros in addition to any additions.
De Gea will turn 34 in November, and he was also in talks to move to the Italian First Division via Genoa and Monza this summer.
