Aid for Sudanese Refugees in Chad Has Been Suspended for 3 Months

Sudan Events – Reports

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the silence of those demanding the opening of the Adre crossing regarding the suspension of aid for Sudanese refugees in Chad for the past three months.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “While some parties are unjustifiably raising a fuss about opening border crossings to bring in aid, with a suspicious focus on the Adre crossing, the needs of Sudanese refugees in Chad are being neglected.”

The ministry pointed to the continued suffering of Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad, especially in the Adre area, due to the suspension of humanitarian aid for the past three months.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the government has noticed a lack of global attention to the situation of Sudanese refugees and the limited aid reaching them and the 11 million internally displaced persons in the secure states, especially after the rains and floods.

The ministry renewed the government’s rejection of the “politicization of humanitarian work” and called on the international community to provide aid to the displaced and flood victims, and refugees in neighboring countries.
