Six Dead and Dozens Injured in Militia Shelling in El-Obeid

At least six people were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday during shelling by the Rapid Support Forces militia on a high school and a crowded market in El-Obeid, North Kordofan state. According to a bulletin issued by the El-Obeid Hospital Administration, “At least 6 people were killed and around 45 others were injured.” Eyewitnesses reported that the Rapid Support Forces carried out heavy artillery shelling on crowded civilian areas in El-Obeid on Wednesday morning, targeting the city’s main market and Al-Khansa Girls’ High School, injuring more than 30 students. In response, the army retaliated with more intense shelling on the positions of the Rapid Support Forces in the western part of El-Obeid.
