After Opening the Adre Border Crossing, the Government Calls for the Militia to Cease Looting Aid

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the decision to open the Adre border crossing is part of the Sudanese government’s responsibility toward all its citizens, including those in areas attacked by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), whether in Darfur or other parts of Sudan.

In a statement on Friday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that what is required now is to compel the “rebel forces” to allow the passage of aid without obstacles and to cease looting and theft.

The ministry reaffirmed the Sudanese government’s continued cooperation regarding all the crossings and entry points previously designated for humanitarian aid.

The Foreign Ministry also called on the international community and donor organizations to fulfill their previous commitments to providing humanitarian assistance to those in need, including Sudanese refugees in neighboring countries, especially in eastern Chad, who are currently living in dire conditions due to not receiving food supplies for several months.
