Death Toll in “Jaljny” Massacre Rises to 87
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Sudan Doctors’ Network revealed that the death toll from the attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia on the village of Jaljny in Sennar State has risen to 87, noting that dozens of wounded are in critical condition amid a lack of life-saving medicines following the looting of pharmacies and medical facilities.
In a statement, the Sudan Doctors’ Network strongly condemned the severe escalation of violence, which constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, pointing out that targeting innocent civilians in such a brutal manner constitutes a war crime that warrants accountability.
