Saudi Arabia Announces Execution of Al-Shihri for “Treason Against His Country”

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday the execution of a citizen convicted of treason against his country, along with committing criminal acts.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Interior said, “Dhafer bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shihri, a Saudi national, committed criminal acts involving treason against his country and engaged in terrorist activities aimed at disturbing societal security and stability.”
It continued, “Upon referral to the Public Prosecution, he was charged with committing these criminal acts, and a verdict was issued by the Specialized Criminal Court, proving his guilt and sentencing him to death. The verdict was upheld by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, and the death sentence was carried out on Saturday, 20/02/1446 AH corresponding to 24/08/2024 AD in the Riyadh region.”
The statement added, “The Ministry of Interior, by announcing this, emphasizes its commitment to maintaining security, achieving justice, and deterring anyone who tries to harm.
