Sudan Events – Agencies
High-level diplomatic sources reported that U.S. and Egyptian officials are engaged in ongoing discussions with leaders of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council to urge them to participate in the Geneva talks.
According to “Asharq Al-Awsat,” the discussions are moving past the stumbling block of the U.S.-Sudanese consultative meeting that was scheduled to take place in Cairo in recent days.
The sources in Geneva revealed that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is continually in talks with Egyptian and Sudanese officials to persuade the army leaders to attend the negotiations.
