“Possible Russian Sabotage” Behind Alert at NATO Base
Sudan Events – Agencies
Security sources revealed to the German news agency today, Monday, that a possible Russian sabotage operation was behind the alert that occurred days ago at a NATO air base in Geilenkirchen, Germany. The sources explained that serious information was received from a foreign intelligence service “about preparatory actions for a possible Russian sabotage operation against the NATO base using a drone.” Last week, the second highest security level was implemented at the base located in North Rhine-Westphalia for approximately 24 hours due to a potential threat. After no incidents occurred, security precautions were reduced on Friday afternoon to the previously applied level, known as “Bravo +.” A spokesperson for the base explained that the security level was raised as a precautionary measure to minimize potential risks to the staff.
