Organization of Islamic Cooperation Labels Rapid Support Forces as Rebel Forces

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has declared its full solidarity with Sudan in light of the ongoing armed conflict caused by the rebel Rapid Support Forces.
During a meeting of the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers, the organization emphasized the importance of preserving Sudan’s security and stability, respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and considered the Jeddah platform as the basis for any negotiations, calling for the implementation of all its provisions and outcomes. The organization, for the first time in its decisions, officially labeled the RSF as “rebel forces.”
