Burhan Arrives in Beijing, Anticipated Summit with the Chinese President

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, arrived in China on Tuesday to participate in the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, which will be held in Beijing from September 4th to 6th. The summit will be attended by African leaders who are members of the forum, as well as representatives from African regional organizations and relevant international organizations.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council will hold several bilateral meetings with heads of state and government participating in the summit, aiming to enhance and develop cooperative relations between Sudan and these countries.
Burhan and Chinese President Xi Jinping will also hold a bilateral summit to discuss prospects for cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between Sudan and China to achieve the common interests of both countries.
At the conclusion of the talks, several agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral relations in various fields between the two countries will be signed.
Accompanying Burhan on the visit are the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Energy and Oil.
