Washington: Foreign Entities Fueling the Fire in Sudan

Sudan Events – Reports
The U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, stated that several foreign entities are fueling the fire in Sudan. He added, “This undoubtedly disturbs the Sudanese people, who want it to stop.”
Perriello confirmed in a tweet on “X” that the United Nations is working on implementing and extending the arms embargo in Darfur. In the short term, they are focusing on ensuring food and medicine reach populations facing famine.
He also stated, “We want to see an end to indiscriminate bombing, especially by the Rapid Support Forces.”
He expressed hope that the Code of Conduct reached by the “Alliance to Save Lives and Peace in Sudan” group would soon come into effect and help reduce or eliminate the violations and atrocities occurring in the country.
He added, “There are no excuses in the future for attempting to avoid the commitments made by both parties. That is why we continue, daily and weekly, to try to move both parties forward in honoring the agreements reached in Jeddah and beyond.”
