Northern State: 40,000 families affected by rains and floods

Governor of Northern State, Abdeen Awadallah, stated that the scale of damage from the rains and floods exceeds the state’s capabilities, adding that 40,000 families and 26,000 homes have been affected.
In a press statement, Abdeen noted that some citizens are left without shelter and are in need of food and accommodation, pointing out that the national highway has been damaged by floods and confirming the need to activate Dongola Airport to deliver humanitarian aid to those affected by the flood disasters.
The technical committee for autumn emergencies at the Ministry of Health in Northern State announced an increase in the death toll from the rains and floods to 42 people, with 433 others injured.
