Sudan Standards Authority Conducts Intensive Inspection Campaigns in Kassala

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization’s Kassala branch conducted intensive inspection campaigns in Kassala locality, covering the West Gash market, the public market, and a large number of grocery stores, cafeterias, tire shops, iron distribution centers, and hardware stores. This effort is part of the branch’s plan for industrial and service inspections.
Nahla Mohamed Abdullah, Director of the Kassala branch, confirmed that all localities in the state and their markets are being inspected. She urged consumers to promptly report expired or non-compliant products. The inspection campaigns will continue to cover the markets of West Kassala, Hafiir, and rural Kassala localities. She noted that the inspections demonstrate the authority’s commitment to protecting consumers across the state and revealed that violations included expired goods and poor storage conditions. The working scales in the markets were also checked and reviewed.
