Chinese President: Al-Burhan Capable of Ending the War

On Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping received Sudanese Sovereignty Council Chairman General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, on the sidelines of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
Al-Burhan praised the forum’s organization and highlighted the historical ties between China and African countries, emphasizing Sudan’s long-standing relationship with China for over 65 years. He acknowledged China’s support for Sudan in international forums and expressed Sudan’s desire to build a strategic partnership with China for the mutual benefit of both peoples.
Al-Burhan also noted China’s significant economic investments in Sudan, particularly in oil extraction and infrastructure projects. He reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to facilitating Chinese investments and addressing any obstacles through joint committees.
Al-Burhan thanked China for its security and military support and expressed Sudan’s determination to end the rebellion led by the RSF. He accused international and regional entities of plotting against Sudan’s security and stability.
President Xi welcomed Al-Burhan and thanked him for participating in the forum, underscoring the deep-rooted historical ties between China and Africa. He expressed hope for further development in these relations and noted that China has been closely monitoring the situation in Sudan.
Xi expressed confidence in Al-Burhan’s ability to overcome the crisis and end the war. He also reiterated China’s willingness to support Sudan in its path to peace and prosperity, rejecting external interference in Sudan’s affairs and urging the international community to play a constructive role.
Xi also announced China’s solidarity with Sudan in dealing with recent floods and pledged 200 million Chinese yuan to meet the humanitarian needs of those affected.
