Sudan Events – Agencies

Sudan’s Refugee Commissioner, Musa Ali Atroun, announced the opening of a camp to receive Ethiopian soldiers and civilians fleeing the military confrontations in the Amhara region, near Sudan’s Gadaref state.
Following a visit to the Gallabat border crossing, Atroun reported that the refugee registration center had recorded the entry of dozens of Ethiopian soldiers and civilians, some of whom were wounded and transferred to Gadaref.
The Commissioner of Refugees, in cooperation with the Ethiopian authorities, successfully relocated Sudanese refugees from the Olala and Komar camps in Ethiopia to a new camp within the Amhara region, which can accommodate around 40,000 refugees.
