The Fifth Infantry Division (Hagana) repelled an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on Al-Obeid from two directions—west and south.
According to eyewitnesses, the army and other regular forces fought back with great courage and combat experience.
Residents of the western and southern neighborhoods of Al-Obeid said that the army’s Hagana forces executed expert military plans, leading to a significant victory over the RSF militia, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment. The army also captured six combat vehicles in full operation.
Survivors from the RSF militia reportedly fled southwest of Al-Obeid.
Residents of Shikan Block 5 reported that the militia had attacked citizens in their homes, shooting them and killing a woman, while others were severely injured.
