Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, met with Tom Perriello, the US Special Envoy to Sudan.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Sudan, particularly the worsening humanitarian situation.
Al-Thani noted that since May 2023, Qatar has been running an air bridge to Sudan as part of its support for the Sudanese people, providing them with essential supplies. Last month, Qatar also delivered shelter supplies to those affected by the floods in Sudan.
Additionally, Qatar pledged $75 million to support Sudan since the outbreak of the crisis in the country.
