WHO Director Pledges Support for Sudan in Current Phase

The Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, received WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom in Port Sudan, in the presence of Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A detailed report was presented on the health and humanitarian situation in the country, particularly following the war launched by the RSF militia and its impact on the health and humanitarian sectors. Agar expressed hope that these conditions would be conveyed to the international and regional community.
The Minister of Health, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, stated in a press briefing that the Vice President had provided a full briefing on the current situation in Sudan and the developments resulting from the war, particularly its impact on the health and humanitarian sectors.
The WHO Director-General pledged to support Sudan during this phase and provide all necessary health assistance to citizens affected by the war.
