Turkey Neutralizes 19 PKK Members in Northern Iraq

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that it neutralized 19 members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in air raids in northern Iraq between September 7 and 9. The ministry said the raids targeted PKK locations in Gara, Hakurk, and Qandil, killing 19 militants. Turkey has been conducting operations against PKK strongholds in northشern Iraq since April 2022. The PKK is blamed for the deaths of around 40,000 people since its separatist campaign began in the 1980s.
