Egyptian Aid Ship Arrives at Port Sudan

On Saturday, acting governor of Red Sea state, Major General Mustafa Muhammad Nour, the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ismat Mustafa, the commander of the Sudanese Air Defense Forces, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Sudan received an Egyptian humanitarian aid ship at Port Sudan.
The ship, sent by the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Religious Endowments, and the Egyptian Red Crescent, carried 200 tons of medicine and food supplies.
Major General Mustafa Muhammad Nour said, “We in Sudan, as well as many other countries, know very well that the oldest relationship between two peoples is the one between Sudan and Egypt.” He noted that the Egyptian ship is carrying relief supplies, including medicines and food.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Sudan, Hany Salah, said the ship, which carried 200 tons of various goods, was sent on the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Hany explained that the shipment will be distributed according to the Sudanese government’s vision and emphasized that what Egypt has provided to Sudan is a natural role, affirming that Egypt will continue to issue visas for Sudanese citizens as instructed by the political leadership in Egypt. He noted that 1.2 million Sudanese have arrived in Egypt since the war in Sudan began and that Cairo will continue all initiatives related to Sudanese affairs.
