Russia Warns of Potential Nuclear Response Amid Western Actions in Ukraine

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, warned that Russia’s patience in refraining from a nuclear response to Western actions in Ukraine is nearing its end.
In a message posted on his Telegram channel, as reported by Russia’s TASS agency, he said that while “no party has an interest in nuclear conflict,” Russia has so far exercised restraint in using its nuclear capabilities in response to Western intervention, particularly regarding precision strikes deep within Russian territory. However, he warned that “even the greatest level of patience has limits.”
These warnings followed recent discussions in the U.S. regarding the provision of tactical missile systems to the Ukrainian military, which could enable Kyiv to conduct deeper strikes into Russian territory.
The Kremlin also acknowledged the escalating threat, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that Russia is preparing countermeasures.
