“Middle Call”: Living and Humanitarian Crisis Due to Militia Occupation of Al Jazeera

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The “Middle Call” platform reported that the occupation of Al Jazeera state by RSF militias has caused a severe crisis for citizens struggling to survive under harsh conditions.
The platform highlighted the deteriorating health situation with the spread of epidemics, fever, and rising mortality rates due to the lack of healthcare and medicine.
According to Monday’s statement, “citizens are struggling to access cash to meet their needs or even to flee, relying primarily on bank transfers from relatives and donations.”
Due to these circumstances, various areas in Wad Madani and other cities have set up communal kitchens to feed locals, funded through local donations and self-initiatives. There have also been individual efforts to run solar power systems for wells to provide drinking water.
The platform stated that the suffering continues to worsen daily, with what it described as deliberate neglect and suppression of information. It also mentioned that areas under militia control resemble “a large prison” where people face hunger, disease, and violations without any notable intervention.
