The Minister of Finance and Planning of South Sudan, Murial Dongorin, announced the resumption of crude oil exports from Upper Nile State through Sudan to global markets.

Dongorin said, according to Al-Taghyeer, “Significant progress has been made in resuming oil production from Dar Blend in Upper Nile, and we are optimistic about achieving a breakthrough.”

He explained that South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir and the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, discussed the resumption of oil exports through Sudan during Al-Burhan’s visit to Juba, following four months of efforts to rebuild the oil infrastructure.

He added, “One of the issues discussed with our president is the matter of resuming the Dar Blend exports, and production is expected to begin soon, with the remaining details handled by the Ministry of Petroleum.”
